Samantha's Story

I wanted to let you know that I took Samantha to the Splash Park a couple of weeks ago. I was so excited for Samantha to experience the water slides and playing in the water. I figured since she had just completed the roll-back-to-float sequence during her ISR lessons she would be comfortable walking in the shallow water by herself with me by her side.

The water at this Splash Park is very shallow and probably hit Samantha just below her knees, so she was able to walk in the water unassisted. I let Samantha walk in front of me and a little boy created a current which caused Samantha to fall face down in the water. I went to pick her up, but it happened so quickly that as I was bending down I immediately saw Samantha roll over on her back and float. When looked down to make sure she was ok and she was smiling and she was so proud that she knew what to do when she fell under water.

I know it might sound silly that I am so proud of Samantha, but it makes me feel confident that Samantha would know what to do if we were in a bigger drowning situation. Also, Samantha seems more comfortable in the water because of her lessons. Thanks Kristy for teaching Samantha! We are so lucky you introduced us to this amazing program. Stuart and I are looking forward to bringing Samantha back for more lessons!

Thanks again for everything!
